Patina Patina PatinaMiller played the role of Lead Player as the Leading Player in The Broadway version of Stephen Schwartz's cult production of the year 1972's musical "Pippin". Produced by Tony Award-winning Director Diane Paulus, and also featuring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards. Patina put her own contemporary version of the award-winning Ben Vereen's part and did a great job at mastering the Fosse movements that were so vital to the production. Patina received a Tony Award for Best Performance by an actress in leading Role within a Musical, and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical in addition to Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for her performance. From December 2012 until January 2013, she played the lead role in American Repertory Theater's production Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
